Hello and a very warm welcome!!! I am Moorthi and my nickname name is Ramanujam.
I was born and grew up in Pudukkottai, a city in the southern part of India, Tamilnadu.
Since this is an autobiography, lets start with my educational background. The early parts of my student life were spent as cricketer, first at Government Middle School (1st-5th) and then Government Higher Secondary School (6th-12th). My next stop is the Bharathidasan University, India, where i received the BSc (Computer Science) Degree in 2008 and the MCA degree in 2011.
My career journey started in 2012 when i joined Indian Institute of Technology, Madras to work as Project Associate. The institute, as i says, not only offered me domain knowledge but also influenced me perspectives towards life. It was here that I met people from different walks of life and that completely changed me. Following my B.Sc., i went to pursue MCA degree from Jamal Mohamed College (Autonomous), Bharathidasan University Tiruchirappalli, India, in 2008.
I am currently a Technical Engineer at the National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management, Chennai, India.
NCSCM Information Technology is the cornerstone to providing reliable, high-performance, secure IT infrastructure, effective IT governance and services for the campus. Here at NCSCM IT, my aim is to transform NCSCM into a borderless computing community providing knowledge at its fingertips by enhancing the use of effective applications and services for researching and developing. I have joined a passionate group of people who are inspired by the opportunity to work on IT security problems and be part of the team to lead the growth in IT security. With a strong passion for information technology, I am always striving to improve and innovate the IT security with a can-do attitude. I am thriving a dynamic environment to create the new grounds with innovative ideas in the IT security field. Moorthi Chitravel, an Indian citizen, currently serves as a Technical Engineer at the National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management, Chennai. Prior to this role, he worked as an IT Specialist at the Centre for Sponsored Research and Consultancy and the Department of Chemical Engineering at Anna University, Chennai, as well as at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras . He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Computer Applications, both from Bharathidasan University. Mr. Moorthi has over 12 years of full-time professional experience in the field of Information Technology, including 8.5 years at Anna University, Chennai , and 1.3 years at IIT Madras.
He is an experienced IT specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education sector, with core expertise in system administration, network administration, IT infrastructure management, server administration, firewall administration, and team development.
His career began in 2012 as a Project Associate at IIT Madras. In July 2014, he joined Anna University, Chennai, as a System Specialist in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He also served as a Technical Analyst at the State Project Directorate, Government of Tamil Nadu, in July 2019. Mr. Moorthi's professional interests lie primarily in IT infrastructure, Networking, and security. He has contributed significantly to the automation of institutional back-office processes and plays an active role in IT infrastructure management and modernization projects at both university and department levels.
He has more than 12 years of experience in system development using a variety of technologies, with a strong focus on system administration, network administration, server administration, firewall administration, and IT infrastructure management. He is currently involved in maintaining and revamping major IT infrastructure projects at his institute, ensuring robust, secure, and scalable technology solutions.
Mr. Moorthi is the recipient of several prestigious academic honors, including the First Rank Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Subjects, the highest recognition awarded by Bharathidasan University for academic excellence. He also received the Best Student Award from the Department of Computer Science for three consecutive years (2006, 2007, and 2008).
His research interests include Networking and Security.
